Fat cells tend to store excess heavy metals to protect the body’s vital organs.

However, heavy metals get locked into cells and tissues and linger there for years, so need help to be released and expelled from the body.

What Plants Can Help to Eliminate Toxic Metals?

One of the best ways to continue to eliminate heavy metals is to consume certain plant-based foods that are effective at helping toxic metals leave the body. Here are some examples of plants that are effective:

Chlorella

Chlorella is an algae that grows in both freshwater or saltwater. Chlorella grabs heavy metals that are outside the cell and helps to eliminate them from the body. These metals are normally found in the mesenchyme or the gut. Chlorella can help to decrease the absorption of heavy metals through the gut and back into the cells.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a plant-based superfood, blue-green algae with anti-inflammatory properties that support the body while detoxing heavy metals. Spirulina can reduce free radicals in the brain, according to animal studies.

Spirulina pulls heavy metals out of your brain, central nervous system, liver, and kidneys.

The best way to take it is to add a teaspoon of spirulina powder to fruit smoothies, or freshly made juices.

Wild Blueberries

Blueberries are very rich in salicylates (natural aspirin) and are therefore natuaral anti-inflammatories. Blueberries are also very high in antioxidants which again can help quench free radical damage that is created by heavy metals in the body.

Research studies have shown that consuming organic wild blueberry extract may help detox heavy metals from the brain’s lymphatics and detoxify the brain by inhibiting a particular protein that blocks the brain’s cleansing process.

Cleaning heavy metals from the brain can also help to reverse Alzheimer’s disease.

This plant effectively contributes to liver regeneration and promotes liver innervation.

Milk thistle can help to reduce damage to the liver caused by free radicals, which are produced when your liver metabolizes toxic substances.

Dulse Seaweed

In addition to mercury, this Dulse seaweed binds to lead, aluminium, copper, cadmium, and nickel. Dulse seaweed can penetrate deep into the gastrointestinal tract, attaching to mercury and other heavy metals and helping to eliminate these from the body.

Seaweed is an excellent source of minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, folate, iodine, and selenium. Most seafood contains about 74 different minerals and trace elements.
